CAGED

Whenever I listen to Charles Ng talk about his parents I know that he misses them and wants them to visit but they live in Hong Kong.  Besides, he forgets that he’s been imprisoned for over 25 years now.  He doesn’t realize that people do get old and it’s not easy for them to travel such a long distance.  How heartbreaking it must be for his folks to know that he was found guilty and now must live out the rest of his days, not only away from them but in America despised and locked up in San Quentin on Death Row.  I’m sure that is something no parent wants to think about.  But if he is indeed guilty, then where else can he go?

  1. Good story Valerie. I read the previous one as well. I’m thinking about writing a book on the same subject, not about a death row inmate but a young petty thief who after stealing a little over $2000 gets seven years in a prison sentence.
