When you’re in a visiting facility with a prisoner you can see and imagine how life must be on the inside.  First, you have hours just to sit around in a tiny confined place and do nothing.   I know that Charles took some correspondence course which explains why he likes paper folding  — origami and he also learned about Art so he spends lots of time creating something.  This is not only important for inmates but for everyone. There is so much in this world to learn and try to do.   Whenever I talk to Charles he tells me what he can do with a simple sheet of paper, write, paint, or draw even if he is caged.  I think this is a healthy attitude for the mind regardless of where you are in life.
